With an eye for design, Tara has always had a passion for walking through open houses, model homes, and construction sites. Over the years, many friends and family members have sought out her help and suggestions with their own home projects or when buying or selling a home. Tara has bought and sold many homes of her own and always dreamed of building for herself and in 2013 she finally got that opportunity. Tara had her hands literally on every part of building her forever home here in east Hawaii. From designing every detail, to permitting with the county, to doing the actual framing herself, all the way down to the finish work, Tara has accomplished what many people dream of doing with their homes. She can honestly say she loved it all, every step of the way. Now that Tara is a Realtor®, nothing makes her happier than sharing her knowledgeable experience, passion, and love of this beautiful island with others.

Since 2003 Tara has worked in education at both the elementary and college level. As a lifelong learner, Tara is a natural facilitator and teacher. Obtaining her master’s degree while being a new full-time teacher and raising her family taught her that once she has a goal and makes a plan, she can do anything and is unstoppable. Teaching on the computer over zoom to a group of six-year-olds during Covid proved it!

Tara has been living on the Big Island of Hawai’i since 2010. She has never felt more at home than she does living here. Residing just outside of Hilo reminds Tara of the once small, sleepy little beach town where she was born and raised, Santa Cruz, CA. Being surrounded by lovely ocean water nourishes her soul. Living in Hawaii goes hand in hand with having a deep love and respect for the ocean.
